Adherence Multiplier Explained
Adherence Multiplier Explained
The Adherence Multiplier (1x, 2x, or 3x) is the single most powerful factor in your Rubric Score. It rewards consistent tracking and protocol adherence over raw health outcomes.
Why Adherence Dominates
A concrete comparison:
- User A: (6 sleep + 3 nutrition + 4 activity) = 13 PI × 3x adherence = 39.
- User B: (9 sleep + 10 nutrition + 8 activity) = 27 PI × 1x adherence = 27.
User A — with worse health metrics but better tracking and protocol adherence — outscores User B. This is not a flaw. It is the core design principle: the act of showing up consistently is the most valuable health behavior. The score is designed to reward it.
The Three Tiers
| Multiplier | Tier Name | Requirements | Maximum Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1x | Incomplete | Missing core data (sleep, activity, or nutrition) | 33 |
| 2x | Recorded | All core data present. No active protocols, or protocols not all passing. | 66 |
| 3x | Full Compliance | All core data present AND all active protocols passing | 99 |
What Each Tier Requires
1x — Incomplete. At least one core data source is missing: sleep, activity, or nutrition. The 1x tier caps your score at 33.
2x — Recorded. All three core data sources are present. If you have no active protocols, 2x is your maximum — and that is fine. A complete record is valuable on its own.
3x — Full Compliance. All core data present AND every active protocol is passing. Two protocols, both adherent: 3x. One failing: 2x.
What this means for you: If you want a higher score, the single most impactful action is to (1) log your meals every day and (2) follow your active protocols. Perfect sleep or perfect macros help, but they are the smaller lever. Adherence is the big one.
How Protocols Affect the Multiplier
| Scenario | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| No active protocols, all core data present | 2x |
| Active protocols, all passing, all core data present | 3x |
| Active protocols, any failing, all core data present | 2x |
| Any core data missing (regardless of protocols) | 1x |
A critical detail: protocol failures do not drop you to 1x. Only missing core data does. If you have complete records but a protocol is failing, you stay at 2x — not 1x. The system distinguishes between “didn’t track” (1x) and “tracked but didn’t comply” (2x). Both are penalized, but incomplete tracking is penalized more.
The Path to 3x
Wear your sleep tracker to bed. Carry your phone or watch during the day. Log at least one meal. Complete your daily check-ins for all active protocols. That routine unlocks 3x.
Users without protocols can achieve a strong score at 2x. To unlock the full range, create at least one protocol. See What Are Protocols? to get started.
