Troubleshooting: Missing Data

Troubleshooting: Missing Data

If something is missing from your dashboard, journal, or score, find your symptom below.

”My score is not showing”

Cause: The score requires three data inputs for the day: sleep data, activity data, and at least one nutrition entry.

Fix: Check your dashboard for which inputs are missing. Log a meal, sync your HealthKit data by pulling down to refresh, or wait for overnight sleep data to process. See Eligibility: Why Is My Score Missing? for the full requirements.

”My HealthKit data is not appearing”

Cause: Rubric may not have HealthKit read permissions, or sync has not run since you last opened the app.

Fix: Open iOS Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Health, then Rubric, and ensure all data categories are enabled. Return to Rubric and pull down on the dashboard to force a sync.

See Connecting Apple Health for the full permissions walkthrough.

”My workouts are not showing up”

Cause: Rubric syncs workouts from Apple Health. If your workout app does not write data to Apple Health, Rubric will not see it.

Fix: Verify your workout app is configured to write to Apple Health. Open the Health app, then Browse, then Activity, then Workouts, then Data Sources and Access. Confirm your workout app has write permission enabled.

”The Coach seems to be missing my recent data”

Cause: The Coach pulls data on demand. If your HealthKit data has not synced yet, the Coach may reference stale information.

Fix: Pull down to refresh on the dashboard to trigger a sync, then return to the Coach conversation. The Coach will have access to the updated data.

”My sleep data is missing”

Cause: Sleep data uses a 6 PM to 6 PM window. If you check early in the morning, last night’s sleep may not yet be processed by Apple Health.

Fix: Wait for your sleep tracker to sync to Apple Health (most trackers process data within 30 to 60 minutes of waking), then pull down to refresh in Rubric. See HealthKit Data Deep-Dive for details on sleep windows.

”My calories seem wrong”

Cause: Nutrition estimates are AI-generated and carry inherent variance. Alternatively, your active calorie target may be coming from a protocol override rather than your profile baseline.

Fix: Tap a nutrition entry to open the Universal Resolver, where you can adjust individual estimates. See Calorie Targets: Profile vs. Dashboard to understand which calorie target is active.

”Data shows under the wrong day”

Cause: Rubric uses non-midnight day boundaries. Sleep runs 6 PM to 6 PM; activity runs 4 AM to 4 AM. A late-night workout at 11:30 PM appears under that day, not the next calendar day.

Fix: This is by design. See HealthKit Data Deep-Dive for a full explanation of day boundaries.

”My web dashboard looks stale”

Cause: The web app cannot access HealthKit directly. It displays data that was last synced from your iPhone.

Fix: Open the Rubric iOS app and pull down to refresh on the dashboard. The web app will reflect the updated data.
